First, you can have only one player at the time. You should have gotten a warning. So class-video plus either jplayer or flowplayer3.

In any case you will have to make sure your file size does not exceed the upload limits. Also as always you should look into all error logs.

1) Shown on the upload tab. Check your file/folder permissions.
2) The server space is the limit.

Enable the class-video and one of the player plugins.

You view videos like you view images on their image page.

Hi. I'm trying to launch ZenPhoto in a domain at Arvixe. Whenever I put zenphoto package in my root directory (elagraphy.com), zenPhoto successfully gets installed and I can upload a photo, but it doesn't show the photo in the gallery, neither the thumbnail nor the full image. The strange point is that the photo is available in the album folder but the browser doesn't have access to the image or to the album. When I add a directory to my root (elagraphy.com/zen) and this time put zenphoto package to that folder and setup it again, this time everything works and it shows the photos properly. I doubled checked the permissions of the uploaded photos and albums. In the former case it doesn't have read access while in the later form it does.

One solution is to use elagraphy.com/zen as my website, but I don't like it and want elagraphy.com to works properly. What is the solution? My initial guess is that something is wrong in uploader.php in the line that zenfolder is checked and when there is no zenfolder rather than the root directory it fails. I will appreciate if you help :)

Zenphoto runs fine in the root of a webspace domain actually and must not be installed in a folder. If it doesn't you will have to review error logs. Or since Arvixe advertises Zenphoto hosting you probably should ask them why this doesn't work.

My initial guess is that something is wrong in uploader.php in the line that zenfolder is checked and when there is no zenfolder rather than the root directory it fails.

The uploader does not require a "folder", it uploads to the albums folder. But you have to create albums within that, you cannot upload direclty to it.

I get the error "Object not found" error when trying to upload photos to a new album via the admin interface (tried both http & jQuery).

The Zenphoto object you are requesting cannot be found.
Album: zp-core
Image: uploader
Powered by zenPHOTO

I noted that the url in the address bar points to .../zenphoto/zp-core/uploader.php, which I can't find the file uploader.php in my zp-core folder.

I've tried this both on my hosted website and locally on my computer - I get the same error on both sides.

Any help appreciated.

The uploaders are plugins actually. Is one of them enabled and are they present in /zp-core/zp-extensions? If not you should consider a re-upload of the files.

I found out that disabling Flashblock plugin for Chrome shows the upload 'window'.

However, it now gives another upload error message (when using jquery) Error: SyntaxError: Unexpected token <
(screenshot of error messages http://i.imgur.com/wCIfdg3.png)

When using http method, the error Fatal error: Invalid album instantiation: . does not exist. in ...\zenphoto\zp-core\class-album.php on line 726 comes up.

I've checked that I have the required plugins in zp-extensions, and have also reuploaded them.

Any ideas what's wrong?

Actually none of the uploaders uses flash (unless as a fallback if I recall right).

But the mysterious "." album again! So please try the support build.

With Flashblock enabled, there's no nice upload progress bar, and also rearranging albums is not possible.

Odd, but previous version didn't have this problem with Flashblock enabled.

I'll give the the support build a try on the local install.

Thanks for the replies.

I've installed the support build locally on the pc, and I still get the same error messages.

I get the error messages when trying to upload to a new album. Upload works fine when uploading to an existing album.

Please review your error logs to find the full text of this error.

With regard to Flashblock. The selection of the uploader does not even use jQuery, so if Flashblock is blocking it that is indeed strange. Also the uploaders themselves have not changed except that we have updated our version of jQuery. Perhaps Flashblock has issues with jQuery.

Or do you have any other JavaScript blocker installed in your browser? If that is the case of course sorting and uploading will not work. All uses Javascript respectively the jQuery Javascript framework.

I tried uploading on Chrome browser with no plugins loaded, javascripts enabled.

This is from my debug log:

Using jQuery:

{6992:Tue, 24 Sep 2013 11:01:16 GMT}
USER ERROR: Invalid album instantiation: . does not exist. in D:\xampplite\htdocs\zenphoto\zp-core\class-album.php on line 726
trigger_error called from Album->__construct (class-album.php [726])
from newAlbum (class-album.php [20])
from uploader.php [39]

Using http:

{6992:Tue, 24 Sep 2013 11:16:57 GMT}
USER ERROR: Invalid album instantiation: . does not exist. in D:\xampplite\htdocs\zenphoto\zp-core\class-album.php on line 726
trigger_error called from Album->__construct (class-album.php [726])
from newAlbum (class-album.php [20])
from uploader.php [40]

Error happens when uploading to new album. I've tried all sorts of album name combination, letters+punctuations, letters only, single word, all comes up with error.

Image name e.g. 20130921_IMG_9577.jpg (as seen in my error screenshot above)

Sorry for double posting, I wrongly posted to another thread (http://www.zenphoto.org/support/topic.php?id=503565). It seems my original error has changed to the error in the other thread, so I guess it was an 'appropriate' mistake. :p

Hi Guys,

I'm epically confused. I just joined this company a month and a half ago and were given the task of figuring out why they were getting error messages for the Zenphoto site they set up when they upload files.

So far my testing shows that the only files that upload without a hitch is JPEG and JPG, other ones like BMP, GIF, PNG, and strangely TIFF throws an error but uploads anyways, the reason TIFF is singled out is that TIF flat out won't upload at all @@

my manager told me that the most important thing is to figure out why MP4 files won't upload, so I tried that and found several errors in the server err log, first one being FcgidMaxRequestLen set too low so it wouldn't accept the file, but after changing that now I get "(104)Connection rest by peer: mod_fcgid: error reading data"

from some hunting around it looks like it's an error of it timing out before the job could finish, so I tried changing the time to make it longer like others suggested, but it didn't work, so I made a really tiny MP4 file (2MB) just for testing and that failed too so I'm guessing it's not timing out but rather something else

anyone know servers enough to help me out? no code was changed in Zenphoto as far as I know, kind of want to change the server to NOT use FastCGI, but they made the thing so complicated I don't even know where to start....

EDIT
just thought I'd mention, I get a 500 internal error when I try using http upload method, the other two throws error as well, but those error mean very little to me. Also I have tried different browsers and other computers as well.

version info
Zenphoto version 1.4.3.3 [10902]
Apache 2.2.14
PHP 5.3.2-1
Ubuntu 10.04.4

Thanks guys, any help (heck even a poke) would be much appreciated
